Feed updates by E-mail

Bookmark and Share

Is the internet getting out of control? More and more websites and blogs are being created every day. How do we keep track of all these updates? Simple: we use feeds.

What are feeds? A web feed is a data format used for providing users with frequently updated content. Content distributors syndicate a web feed, thereby allowing users to subscribe to it. The most popular types are RSS and Atom feeds. When subscribed, the user will be able to follow all updates made. For example, to stay up to date with digg.com's most popular items, you'd subscribe to:

http://feeds.digg.com/digg/popular.rss

Or, if you want to subscribe to youtube's latest videos related to a certain keyword, you'd subscribe to:

http://youtube.com/rss/tag/keyword.rss (replace keyword with your own)

So, how do I subscribe to a feed? There are special feed readers to accomplish this, however many of them have downsides. First of all, you'll need to constantly check your reader for updates - or it will have to be activated all the time. Not to forget that you'll need to install software on your computer.

Are you saying there's an alternative? Yes, there is! If you're a frequent mail user, you'll probably enjoy our service: we mail you the (RSS or Atom) feed updates. You can subscribe to as many feeds as you wish, and choose your own delivery interval for each. When multiple feeds have been updated, these will be merged into one compact mail. You'll not have to install anything, even better: it's free and you can unsubscribe at any time!

So, you'll probably abuse my personal details? Not at all. In fact, you only have to enter the feed URL and your e-mail address so we know which feed to keep track of and where to mail these updates to. We will only use your e-mail address to send your subscribed feed updates and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Sounds great! Where do I enter my feed URLs? Simply go to our website, www.feedpostal.com and enter your URL in the big input box. Subscription takes less than 30 seconds, as seen on the following video tour:
